Coreplast Laitila invests in solar energy

Coreplast Laitila has taken new steps to further reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Coreplast Laitila has invested in a solar power system with hundreds of solar panels producing annually even 170 MWh sustainable solar energy. Solar energy reduces significantly electricity consumption and carbon emissions. The payback period of the system is also relatively short.

”The solar system is an important part of our sustainability strategy”, tells Mikko Toivonen, CEO of Coreplast Laitila. ”According to our estimations, the solar system will help us reduce annually CO2 emissions by 68 tons. In order to absorb the same amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in ten years time, we would need to plant nearly 5500 trees”, Toivonen concludes.

The solar system was delivered to Coreplast Laitila by Naps Solar Systems.
